Build the skills to support every client

Creating an inclusive fitness environment starts with understanding that every client experiences exercise differently. For neurodivergent clients, the right approach can make a meaningful difference to how comfortable, confident and engaged they feel during their fitness journey.

Course Overview

Inclusivity doesn't have to mean big, expensive changes or even a different program. It can be as simple as understanding the individual and knowing how to adapt your approach.

Whether you’re a personal trainer, fitness instructor, coach or other fitness professional, this practical CPD course will give you the knowledge, skills and adaptable approaches to confidently deliver high-quality support to neurodivergent clients in everyday fitness settings.

What skills will you learn?

UNDERSTAND → COMMUNICATE → ADAPT → SUPPORT → APPLY → BUILD CONFIDENCE

2.png

UNDERSTAND

Develop your understanding of neurodivergence and the ways individual differences can influence how someone experiences exercise, communication and their environment. Explore common barriers to participation, including sensory, communication, social and environmental factors, and understand why a one-size-fits-all approach may not work for every client.

4.png

SUPPORT

Develop strategies for creating a supportive, flexible and inclusive fitness environment where clients feel comfortable, respected and able to participate. Explore ways to provide structure, predictability and choice while responding appropriately to individual needs during sessions.

1.png

COMMUNICATION

Build a practical toolkit of communication strategies to help you give clear instructions, demonstrations and feedback. Learn how to adapt the way you communicate, check understanding and provide information in ways that work for different clients and learning preferences.

5.png

APPLY

Put your learning into practice through real-life fitness scenarios and examples. Consider how you would respond to different situations, make appropriate adjustments and apply the strategies you've learned within your own clients, sessions and fitness setting.

3.png

ADAPT

Learn practical ways to adapt your coaching approach, environment and session delivery without compromising the quality, progression or purpose of the exercise. Understand how small changes can make a significant difference to a client's ability to engage, participate and succeed.

6.png

BUILD CONFIDENCE

Develop the confidence to work more effectively with neurodivergent clients and make informed adjustments to your coaching approach. Learn how to recognise when something isn't working, adapt your approach without judgement, and create a positive experience that supports both participation and progress.
